wHAT WE DO
building Student leaders
To Build a Better World.
Arthur J. Schmitt believed that skilled, educated, and compassionate leaders were the source of hope for a better world. He challenged students to "figure out a place for yourself in the world, and then do something about it."
Reflecting Arthur J. Schmitt's responsible stewardship to his community and the world, his Foundation financially supports high school, college, and graduate students who embrace this philosophy, who are seeking opportunity, who represent our country's rich diversity, and who aim to be leaders of positive change for themselves and their world.
"The Foundation commits resources for tuition scholarships and leadership programming for students who show great financial need and great promise to be leaders of change.
We believe leadership is a practice that can be learned, strengthened, and refined over time. And like any meaningful practice, it requires commitment, guidance, reflection, effort, and real-world application. We teach students that leadership is not a title you earn someday, but a way of showing up in the world again & again throughout your life."
